The Four Races: Part 1

The Dragons

The Dragons existed on Terinta before the first apes evolved. They were extremely intelligent, innovative, and creative. They built large cities and ruled over the continent Terina. While they were a powerful race, the dragons had there flaws. They were the most worldly of the four races, falling prey to greed, anger, and lust. They were untrusting of change that they saw as threatening, and they feared what they could not understand. This would prove dangerous for the dragons when something amazing happened to their race. Over a ten year span thousands of dragons were born with powerful gifts that their parents did not have. Some had control over fire, others over water, while other dragons could turn themselves invisible. All these new changes caused the older dragons to fear of a takeover. In an act of panic they banished all the dragons that had powers into the forests of Terina. This led to a major divide in the race of dragons. The ones with powers felt betrayed and swore revenge on their ancestors. Six hundred years passed with fear, anger and strife ruling over the land. It wasn’t until the seven hundredth year of the banishment did the new powered dragons attack. They waged war on the capital city of the dragon nation. The battle was brutal and the powered dragons showed no mercy on their progenitors. One dragon, who was part of the sub-race of dragons known as the Rainbow Dragons, used a powerful ability of psychic, telekinetic, and energy manipulation that completely destroyed the city and all the dragons that were not powered. The energy didn’t stop their however. It moved over all of Terinta and wiped out all of the original dragons in one massive wave. Once the powered dragons realized what they had done, they were horrified. They understood that their hate and bitterness had caused the extinction of an entire race. As the centuries followed the new dragon races rebuilt new cities and tried to live in peace for many thousands of years. Interesting things happened while the dragons lived on Terina, and powerful deeds were done there. The dragons would live on Terina for many eons, until the humans came and everything changed…
